Cimeon Ellerton

As Artistic Direcctor of the London Breakbeat Orchestra (LBO), Cimeon has emerged from a new music scene where the boundaries between classical and popular forms have begun to disintegrate. A love of all forms of new music - from free improvisation to drum & bass – permeates his work, creating sound worlds that are both strange yet familiar. Cimeon recorded his orchestral works with LBO for BBC Radio 1 at Maida Vale Studios last year and is currently doing the summer festival circuit.

Cimeon graduated from Trinity College of Music in 2005 and has since recorded two albums with friend and fellow composer Simon Katan. Released under the name Halal Kebab Hut, the pair work with fellow musicians and sonic experimenters to create musical works that verge on performance art. Currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Cimeon prides himself on attracting audiences normally disassociated from the contemporary classical scene.
